A new study suggests that a small amount of esomeprazole may be more effective in treating conditions caused by stomach acid.
The study, published in the British Medical Journal, compared the effectiveness of esomeprazole with omeprazole in relieving symptoms of gastric acid reflux, stomach ulcers, stomach bleeding, and ulcers caused by esophageal reflux disease.
Esomeprazole, an older class of anti-estrogens, belongs to a group of drugs known asselective inhibitorsfor stomach acid.
Esomeprazole is used to treat gastric and duodenal ulcers caused by peptic ulcers and gastric bypass, and ulcers caused by gastric cancer.
Esomeprazole blocks the action of stomach acid, meaning it may reduce stomach acid production.
Researchers found that esomeprazole was effective in reducing symptoms of stomach ulcers, and the percentage of patients taking esomeprazole was reduced to less than 15%.
Esomeprazole is a prescription-only medicine. It works by reducing the amount of acid produced by your stomach, which is why it is sold under the brand name Nexium.
It is also available as an over-the-counter drug and as a prescription.
In the study, participants who took esomeprazole and omeprazole at different times between the first and second week of treatment were assessed for their symptoms of acid reflux and pain.

“In a study comparing the results of three treatment methods, the percentage of patients taking esomeprazole at different times were similar,” the researchers wrote.
“The results indicate that patients taking esomeprazole may be better able to manage symptoms of acid reflux, pain, and dyspepsia associated with gastric and duodenal ulcers caused by esomeprazole.”
Esomeprazole is used to treat acid reflux, ulcers, stomach problems caused by stomach acid, and ulcers caused by gastric bypass, and ulcers caused by gastric cancer.
The study found that taking esomeprazole significantly reduced the symptoms of acid reflux, ulcers, and heartburn.
In addition, the study found that patients taking esomeprazole were less likely to have gastric or duodenal ulcers due to the reduced effectiveness of the drug.
“While the benefits of esomeprazole in treating these conditions may not outweigh the risks, it is important to understand that esomeprazole has a lower risk of side effects than other prescription medications, and that it may be used safely and effectively,” the researchers concluded.
Taking esomeprazole may lead to side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach pain. The risk of stomach cancer and heart problems is higher in individuals taking esomeprazole, according to the study.
